Cellist Stephanie Winters has recorded and toured North America and Europe as a musical pioneer bringing the strength and richness of her instrument to different musical forms, styles and settings. Her solo debut, "Through the Storm (Expanded Version)", re-released in 2009, captures her signature style of elegance and heartfelt expression that has created an ineffable connection between her music and her audiences. Stephanie has performed and recorded with a variety of artists including Richie Havens, Enya, Michael Jones, Dar Williams, Corrine Bailey Rae, Anne Murray, Paula Cole, The O'Jays and many others. Her current musical interests are focused on studying baroque cello and writing for spoken word and solo cello. This new repertoire will be featured in her upcoming solo show entitled, "Stephanie Winters Cello Theatre" which will debut this Fall as part of Lincoln Center's Library Series.
From 1993 through 2008, Stephanie toured intensively and she has given more than 1,500 concerts to date. Getting her start playing small coffee houses and music clubs in New York City including CBGBs, she went on to perform at festivals including Newport Folk Festival, WOMAD Festival in Australia, New Zealand and England, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and countless others. One highlight was playing the opening ceremony for the Cannes Film Festival in 2008 which was broadcast live to tens of millions of viewers around the globe.
Witnessing the transformative power of music in these many settings, Stephanie realised that her live musical performances could empower people in their leadership, creativity and communication. She is now working as a group facilitator and key-note speaker in the leadership training field, integrating musical performance into workshops and presentations in settings that range from the corporate conference to the school classroom. Stephanie has presented at leadership programs for Society for Organizational Learning, United Nations Development Programme, World Bank Group, American Cancer Society, Peak Performance Sports Conference, The Vine Conference and others.
Beginning her cello studies in the fourth grade in the Levittown, New York, public school music program Stephanie went on to graduate from The Juilliard School, Pre-College Division.
